Slender: The Arrival Teaser Trailer

A few months ago the creator of the terrifying Slender game announced it’s successor, Slender: The Arrival. If you haven’t played the original game I would highly recommend it. It’s completely free and completely horrifying.

The new project is a collaboration between Parsec Productions, the developer of Slender, and Blue Isle Studios. You can tell just from the first few seconds of the trailer that the production value is getting an enormous upgrade. Feast your eyes on the incredibly well-crafted teaser trailer for Slender: The Arrival.

There are many overall updates to the game’s mechanics as well as the introduction of new characters. The trailer also teases a new enemy, adorned in a sketchy looking hoody, that seems to be stunned by your flashlight. I don’t know about you guys, but I got the willies just from watching the trailer. I’m very excited and yet, incredibly afraid of this release.

Slender: The Arrival is scheduled for release on PC and Mac early 2013.

  1. Slender was indeed a terrifying game, but as a horror fan terrifying is good in my book.

Looking forward to the sequel, the teaser trailer looks brilliant.

  2. I’ve heard horrifying tales about the first Slender game. My pal, who very rarely gets scared of movies and video games, said that it scared the living crap out of him.
Myself I have a hard time playing a game that looks as cartoony as the GBA Metroid games, so I wouldn’t expect to emerge sane after playing such a game as this. I’d have nightmares and experience extreme paranoia after a short session I’m sure.
Anyone brave enough to play these games should get a real, solid 24 carats gold medal of Bravery.

    1. The poor graphics were initially a turn-off for me, but once I actually sat down to play it, I found it really creepy and engaging. There’s something beautifully simplistic about the gameplay and the simplicity is another reason it’s so scary.

      1. Imagine how improved graphics will add to the game… I wonder if it’ll be more or less scary due to this?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see (well, not me, I’m too much of a scaredy cat, I’ll have to read the reviews, like an eunuch in a harem).

  3. That looks so awesome!! The original Slender scares me so much, but it was just so fun to play. It’s great to see that their doing this, I got excited just from seeing the company logos at the beginning, knowing it was a legitimate game. The graphics look fantastic. I will definitely be getting this game!

      1. Exactly, and I love how more games are coming out that go along the lines of escape. You have no weapons, you have no ability to defend yourself, all you can do is run away. Amnesia is a perfect example of this, along with Slender. It makes the game even scarier. I’m glad that the horror genre of games is adding more like this. I also saw that there is going to be a new Amnesia coming out this year, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
