Standalone DayZ Footage

DayZ-Standalone-Game
DayZ
started off as one of the most well-known and well-received mods of all time and it’s now progressing into an amazing looking standalone game. Yesterday, the team behind this project released the first footage for the standalone version of DayZ

A few months back, Bohemia Interactive announced their intentions to turn DayZ into a game of it’s own. The creator of the mod, Dean “Rocket” Hall still regularly posts updates on the progress on the game and you can find those updates via the official blog. One of the latest bits of news was actually the first piece of gameplay footage for this upcoming release.

So far the updates are looking phenomenal. There is still much work to be done and there is no official release date, but things are truly coming together. Right away I noticed how much better the environments and especially the characters looked. The introduction of the new and improved clothing swap system was a pretty nifty feature as well. I’m really excited to get my hands on the finished product, especially after the bad taste The War Z left in mouth last month.

  1. I never got to play the mod but I was really interested in it. Maybe I will get the chance to play the standalone when it comes out. I missed purchasing The War Z by one day on Steam. I thought the premise was interesting so I was just about to buy it but decided to hold off, the next day it was gone…guess I dodged a bullet with that one. Hopefully DayZ won’t disappoint.

    1. Yeah I was one of the lucky people who got the opportunity to purchase the War Z and it was pretty disappointing. At first it seemed like a streamlined version of DayZ, but the more you got into it, the more hollow it becomes. DayZ standalone is looking really good. I would highly recommend it. Even the mod was really fun. A little complicated at first, but that’s only because it’s so in-depth.
