Batman Arkham Origins

Game Informer has released a new video and info about Batman: Arkham Origins, the prequel to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City:

So what we learn is that the game will not be developed by Rocksteady, as the previous two were, but by Warner Bros. Montreal. We also know for certain that the game will feature Deathstroke the Terminator

While no word on The Joker, what comes as a huge relief is that the game will take place in just regular Gotham City. I think this will really add an expansive feeling without having to resort to Arkham Country or Arkham Galaxy kind of shenanigans. A living city with just regular people, like Grand Theft Auto would be a nice change a pace for the franchise. Batman: Arkham Origins is slated for release on October 25 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, and PC. And don’t fret handheld fans a Metroidvania style game is also on the way titled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for 3ds and Vita.

Normally I would not be one to “reblog” something but but the folks over at ‘What’s Your Tag?’ put out some quality words and I am super excited about this game. Anytime a hero is out matched and out numbered peeks my interest and it is a blast to see what can happen.

  2. While everything looks gorgeous, and the Gotham addition is a nice touch, it’s really going to come down to the story. Can’t say an “Assassins Ball” really peaks my storytellers interest.

    1. Batman has always been about fantastic writing. The last two games were great examples of that. I’m hoping this new game continues this tradition. I’m always a little weary when they start making a new game every year, but I’m hoping for the best.

I’m really VERY excited for this game. Loved the previous Arkham games and I’m probably going to pick this one up. As well as the companion game on my 3DS

  4. I am super excited about this game since I am a huge Batman fan as well as a big fan of Arkham games, but I have to admit I’m a little worried since Rocksteady and Paul Dini (veteran Batman writer) aren’t involved. I’m also a little disappointed that this going to be a prequel instead of a sequel to Arkham City since that game left a lot of things unresolved even with the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC. However, the fact that Kevin Conroy (the best Batman if you ask me) is returning to voice the Caped Crusader makes me hopeful for this game.

    1. I feel the same way. Rocksteady has created what is easily the best super hero video game series of all time. It’s going to be a touch act to follow. I’m glad Conroy is on board, he is a solid voice actor and a great Batman.
