Next-Gen Xbox Announcement Confirmed

Next-Gen Xbox Reveal
Alright folks, it’s official. Microsoft has confirmed a date for the reveal of the new Xbox console. Hold onto you socks, because this should be a wild ride.

Many of the rumors about the reveal date were actually correct. Microsoft will be hosting an event on Tuesday, May 21st at 10:00 am PST to announce it’s new console. It will be hosted from Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, Washington.

If you’re interested in seeing what the new console has to offer, and I’m sure you are, Microsoft will be streaming the event live on and Spike TV. The official blog post from Microsoft says that this will merely be a “taste” and a larger lineup of games will be revealed at E3.

“On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games.” (

I’m excited to see what Microsoft will to bring to the table with their new console. The Xbox 360 redefined how we all play online games and we’re going to need something pretty amazing to follow it’s success. We will be following this event closely and keeping you all up-to-date as news is unveiled.

I Mileson I

  1. I so hope they don’t make the same mistake as Playstation in that it’s not backward compatible! Unless I win the lottery it’s unlikely I’ll be getting one any time soon but I’d like to be able to play all my old games if I do 🙂

    1. Unfortunately, it’s pretty much confirmed that the next Xbox and PS4 will not be backwards compatible. Some lame excuse about the way the new games read from the discs. It makes me sad 😦

  2. Soooo… you head’n down to L.A. for their game reveals homie?

And believe it or not, I actually am excited to see what they will bring to the table. Sony needs some competition to keep sharp… or get sharpened. Sony doesn’t bad, but they are playing their cards fairly poorly right now.

    1. I would love to go down to E3 and check it out. I could sport my Xbox shirt and be an Xbox groupie. I’m hoping Microsoft has learned from Sony’s mistakes and provides “gamers” and that’s the key word here, with games. I have faith and I look forward to what they might bring to the table.

  3. Usually I’m all over then new next gen consoles when they come out. I’m still excited to see what they turn out like, and get the full specs on them, but I think I’ve come to a decision.

I have owned Playstation’s, Xbox’s and PC’s, and I have personally stuck with the Xbox 360 over the last (however long it’s been since the Xbox 360 and PS3 came out). I don’t hate the PS3, nor do I dislike it even. In fact, I love it!

But having seen the various ‘next gen’ console come out each time, and having to buy a completely new console just to play all the up and coming games, I’ve decided…..that I’m just going to upgrade the graphics card on my PC to a decent one, and just play all my games on there!

I do still love the console feel though….hmmm…..maybe I will have to see what the end product of the new consoles will be before I made my final choice 😛
