While old school adventure games have long since gone, I held out some hope that when Disney bought out Lucas Film, and by extension Lucasarts, we’d see at least some kind of revival of those great bizarre adventure games they put out. Sadly last month Disney put the final nail in that coffin. Fortunately, musician and animator, Felipe Machado has created this fantastic animation to give us all some closure:

So, we say our goodbyes to Lucasarts but we must now ask, what about the future of Star Wars? Well as far as we know all the games they were working on have been canceled. Which makes this recent leak of footage from Star Wars: Battlefront 3 all the more frustrating:
That was early alpha footage via Only Single Player. There really isn’t word what happens now, Disney has given the rights another evil empire, EA. While DICE and BioWare give some hope, it looks like we’ll be getting a lot mobile and tablet Star Wars games from here on out, one way or the other. Ah well, it wouldn’t be the first time Darth Vader has been linked to a smart phone:
