Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation originally launched back in November 2012 for the PS Vita, but those of us without a Vita can now enjoy an HD upscaling on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.

Liberation is priced at $19.99 and promises new missions and a graphical overhaul as you guide the first female assassin, Aveline de Grandpré, around 18th century New Orleans after the end of the French and Indian War.

As you can see, the graphical overhaul turned out quite nice, as the Vita version already looked fantastic. Check out the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation HD trailer below for actual HD gameplay.

  1. I’m a bit sad that they didn’t bother to fix any of the many issues with the Vita version but still had time to remaster this for other systems. Booo.

    1. I don’t own a Vita, so I’m not familiar with which issues you’re referring to. I just picked it up for 360 though, so if you want to give me a run down of those issues, I can let you know if they’re still present in the remaster?

      1. Ahh! Thanks!

The game was very very buggy. My first set of NPC’s glitched, refused to aggro me, opted to walk into walls and the UI dropped from the game. Unfortunately for me I needed to kill them to trigger moving on to the next area, so I had to restart the game completely.

I also found that the aggro range would fluctuate wildly I could stand behind a wall out of sight and somehow trigger a manhunt but then I’d restart stab someone in plain view and nothing.

It got very frustrating so I couldn’t finish it. But I have friends who’ve never experienced any issues I had, so maybe I got a bum copy? Ha!

      2. Yikes, I can see how that could be frustrating. I have similar aggro issues in Black Flag right now, where the shooters in the spy towers seem to either overlook me completely or randomly spot me from a mile away. It doesn’t happen every time, but when I’m not even in hostile territory it gets rather annoying. I’ve also noticed aggro not dumping when I round corners sometimes in Black Flag.

Once I finish Black Flag and start playing Liberation HD for the review, I’ll keep you posted if your issues pop up for me =).
