If there is one thing Capcom does well, it’s beating a dead horse with a dead horse. It was announced today that the Ultimate HD Edition of Resident Evil 4 would be making it’s way to Steam next month.
This re-release will be the first time the game makes it’s way to PC in HD. The Ultimate HD Edition will include all of the content from previous versions of the game and will run at a silky smooth rate of 60fps.
There is no question in my mind that Resident Evil 4 is one of the greatest games ever made, but it’s already been released five times on five different platforms. I love this game as much, if not more, than the next man, but how many times are we expected to play through this game!?
Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2014 on PC.
How creepy 🙂
Will it actually be HD though, and not just a terrible upscale like the PS3 got? I seriously think I own this game 3 times…
I own it on Gamecube, Wii, and Xbox 360. They are saying this new version is in full 1080p at 60fps, but didn’t say if it was upscaled or native.
I have it for PS2, PS3 and Gamecube. The console “HD” versions of that and Code Veronica were just piss-poor upscales that barely classified as high-definition. Capcom does bad HD ports as it is, though. Ever play the DMC HD Collection? Completely half-assed.
I own it on GC and never felt the need to buy another version.
It’s almost like this should be turned into a meme, that’s how tragically funny this is.
It’s gotten a bit ridiculous. Who hasn’t played Resident Evil 4 at this point? And the people haven’t obviously don’t care, haha.
So true.
Look on the bright side, maybe CAPCOM has realized that RE4 was the -last- Resident Evil release that people liked.
… probably still wont get another one like it but if CAPCOM never makes another Operation Raccoon City I would not complain one bit.
I would love to see another Resident Evil: Outbreak! I loved those games and now that online gaming isn’t a terribly painful experience, I feel like they could do some really cool stuff with it.
I’ve never had a high opinion of this game, but it must be that damn good with all these ports.
Personally, I’d want an RE2 remake or another RE starring Rebecca (yes, I enjoyed Zero), but that’s never gonna happen.
Resident Evil 2 was always my favorite in the series. Such a horrifying game when I was a wee lad.
