Lara Returns: Tomb Fantasy XIII

What-the-what?!? Lightning as Lara Croft? I-what?

Ok I’ve caught my breath. We’ve known for a long time that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will feature outfit changes that effect gameplay and that many of these outfits would be based on previous Final Fantasy games. But holy crap! You can dress up as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider? Yes, yes you can and it looks sweet. Check it out:

Along side the outfit you also get a survivor’s axe, riot shield, and a healthy layer of dirt. Well played Square Enix, well played. The question now is what else will they have in store? Fingers crossed for Chrono Trigger outfits.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and the Tomb Raider DLC comes out February 11th for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

  1. I hate to admit that I’m actually looking forward to playing this, in some strage OCD collect-a-thon way. My girlfriend just finished up the quest in Final Fantasy 14 to get Lightning’s outfit and hair in the MMO. I always like when games cross over, even if its just for a bit of fan-service.

If she gets Lucca’s costume from Chrono Trigger or Kid’s from Chrono Cross, I’ll be happy. When I first saw that you change outfits to change schema, I rolled my eyes. Now I shamefully get excited seeing all the new stuff. Ugh.

    1. I’m hoping for a Robo costume myself. I know what you mean, when I first heard about it there such a felling of “Oh your still on XIII then?” now I’m getting excited. It’s weird.

      1. I rather enjoyed the demo, to be honest. Swapping out schema felt fluid and fun, rather than going in to the menu like the original game. It took a few goes to get the hang of things, but it seems to be coming along nicely. Lightning still sounds like she has a cardboard personality, though. Still, I don’t know why I want to play it after suffering the original two, but I do.
