Low Budget Gamer – Xbox 360 Ultimate Game Sale Day 2

brotherhood

Alright XBRO’s, the folks over at Xbox have changed up the roster for their Xbox 360 Ultimate Game Sale. Day 2 isn’t as exciting as yesterday, but you still might find a game or two worth digging in your couch cushions to pay for.

On sale for today only —

  • Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood – $9.99
  • F1 2013 – $16.49
  • Farming Simulator – $14.99
  • Lost Planet 2 – $4.99
  • Darksiders II – $14.99
  • Soulcalibur II HD Online – $4.99
  • HELL YEAH! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit – $3.74
  • Fruit Ninja Kinect – $0.99

There are definitely some great games worth checking out if you haven’t, namely Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Darksiders II, but the prices seem a bit too steep to me by competitive standards.

Darksiders II, for instance, is listed at 75% off but is still $14.99 because Xbox Live sells the digital release for full retail price still. However, you can pick up a brand new physical copy of the Limited Edition at Amazon for $22.00, or go for the original release at $15.91.

Still, if price is your selling point, you can always nab Fruit Ninja Kinect for less than a buck.

What are you getting today, if anything? I’m tempted by HELL YEAH!, but after picking up Bastion and Dust: An Elysian Tail yesterday, I don’t see where it fits in to my schedule right now.

  1. I dug my grubby hands right into Bastion yesterday! What a steal! I was so glad Xbox does these sales, I have been wanting to upgrade my library for a while.

    1. Yeah, I snagged Bastion and Dust for $3 each, which is a steal. Dust is a game I’ve been dying to play, but was too cheap to fork out $15 for something that may have just sat on my HD for months or a year. Now I don’t feel so bad since it was only $3. I played it for about an hour or so last night and was blown away.

      1. Same with me, I played Bastion for an hour and I just LOVED the narrator. It was a very unique experience, and the combat was equally satisfying.

      2. Oddly enough, I’ve had the Bastion soundtrack for about a year and I loved it, but I never actually picked up the game until yesterday. Once I saw the trailer for Supergiant Games upcoming indie title Transistor, I googled the vocalist and saw she did a few tracks for Bastion. My only regret is not picking it up sooner.

      3. That is quite odd. I do love the music too, it brings me into the moment, and you really get a feel for the emotion they try to display. So what is Dust like? I never considered it.

      4. Dust is a completely hand-draw 2D Metroid-vania style game. The environments are gorgeous, but if bi-ped humanoid-animal hybrid characters aren’t your cup of tea, you might be turned off.

Combat is fast paced and combo driven. It’s melee heavy and you can do air-juggles and throws and stuff, but you also have a tiny flying companion that you can order to launch out magic spells and stuff. I dig it a lot.

Although the gameplay is rock solid and I really like going back to explore areas with newly acquired gear and abilities, it’s the art style that does me in. It’s so, so fun to look at.

I’ll link some gameplay for ya..

It’s still on sale, I believe, and well, well worth the $3.00.
