Fans have been asking for a core Pokemon title on consoles for quite some time now and for many years, GameFreak reserved this privilege to handhelds, but it was recently confirmed that Pokemon Universe will be making its way to Wii U and 3DS in early 2015.
GameFreak president, Satoshi Tajiri once claimed that fans would never see a core Pokemon game on home consoles, but he recently changed his tune with the announcement of Pokemon Universe. Tajiri spoke to Game Informer his company’s plans for this new cross-platform Pokemon title.
“When Pokemon was originally created, handhelds were the perfect platform for this type of game. Friends could take their Pokemon anywhere with them and battle or trade with others at any time. Today’s market drastically changes the way our team needs to approach the Pokemon franchise. The internet and online connectivity has opened up bold new possibilities forPokemon Universe and we plan to fully utilize this technology with our next release. Fans will be able to enjoy the same classic Pokemon experience they know and love with the 3DS version, but they will be given the option to expand that experience into something much greater with the Wii U version of the game. If you’ve ever wanted to start your own Pokemon Gym or open your own PokeMart, you should be very excited for what we have in store with Pokemon Universe. We hope this additional platform will open up the magical world of Pokemon to an even broader audience.”
There is no official release date listed for either version of Pokemon Universe and this information available right now is incredibly limited but you can guarantee we’ll be following this story like Kevin Bacon follows Elisabeth Shue in Hollow Man.

I know… it’s a pretty mean prank… but it was April Fool’s day afterall!
I hope it has all 5 regions. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, & Kalos. Plus maybe the Orre Region so you could catch shadow pokemon. Even the Sevi Islands would be nice and the Battle Frontier in the Hoenn Region from the Emerald version and the Battle Frontier in the Sinnoh Region from the Pokemon Platinum version. All the new things and some old things like maybe the Pokewalker and using Pokemon Bank, using the Unova Link and the Key System, going into the Underground using the Explorer Kit Key Item to mine, the new areas and some old areas, and more/ect.. Maybe someone could put things like maybe a way to fuse any pokemon!
