Part Pikmin, part pure insanity, The Wonderful 101 is (in my opinion) one of the best and most unique games available on the Wii U. If you haven’t had the pleasure of playing this special snowflake of a game, Nintendo has reduced the price of the digital download to $29.99 — which is pretty much what you’d pay for a physical copy almost anywhere. Still, if you own a Wii U, you should own this game. Period.
The Wonderful 101 is a Wii U exclusive in which you control various color-themed superheroes to recruit the help of fellow citizens to battle the forces of evil. Each different Wonder-hero has their own unique weapon that you can draw on the Gamepad that’s used both for combat and environmental manipulation. It’s basically the crazy-insane combat you’d expect from Platinum Games, the crazy-insane story you’d expect from Platinum Games and one of the best reasons to own a Wii U.
If you’re curious, there is a demo for download on the Wii U eShop, but if physical copies are more your thing you can easily find one for the same price at any retail shop.
