According to the official Citizens of Earth Facebook page, the charming Earthbound-style RPG has found a publisher in Atlus and will be headed to the PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS & PC this September. Congratulations, Eden Industries!

They also released a new trailer, which you can check out below.

I’ve been excited for Citizens of Earth for a while now, so seeing them find a publisher is awesome news. Unfortunately, Citizens of Earth will not be headed to either of the Xbox consoles.

I spoke with them on their Facebook page and asked why they decided to skip out on the 360 and Xbox One.

Well one big reason was when I attended the Microsoft Indie Developer summit late 2013, they didn’t have dev kits ready for Xbox One and couldn’t say when they would become ready. That kind of uncertainty makes it really hard to plan a port, especially in the time frame we were looking at.”

So maybe there’s the possibility of an Xbox port down the line? When I asked, this is what they had to say.

Nothing is off the table in terms of future ports, but it’d mainly be up to Atlus if they want to pursue it. That kind of decision is one of their prerogatives as the publisher. So I guess, you’ll have to convince them that Xbox fans want to play it :).

So there you have it! If the Xbox community wants Citizens of Earth, let Atlus know!
