Latest Trailer for The Evil Within Shows Us Just How Crazy This Game Will Be

Fans of survival horror games are all looking to The Evil Within with eager eyes in hopes that it will revitalize and restore the genre. A new trailer showcased at PAX East reveals a huge amount of new, terrifying gameplay and gives us a better look at the insanity of Shinji Mikami’s latest project.

To be honest, I never would have expected something so surreal after watching the previous trailers. The Evil Within fully embraces the madness of a mental institution and throws our protagonist head-first into a world of nightmares. The chaotic jumps from scenes of extreme horror and gore to serene fields filled with sunflowers has me incredibly interested to see how this story will unfold. This game definitely has the potential to be the next survival horror classic.

The Evil Within is scheduled to release in North America on August 26th, 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.

      1. I keep expecting this to turn in to complete crap somewhere because the genre has been dormant almost the entire last-gen cycle.. but this trailer has me even *more* hype.

    1. Haha! Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing. There are definitely a lot of things that reminds me of Silent Hill and that makes me happy camper.
