Now that The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4 is official, it was only a matter of time before retailers started dishing out pre-orders. Turns out Sony themselves are the first to do so, as you can pre-order the digital release now and receive a pretty hefty list of bonuses on launch day.
Pre-ordering The Last of Us: Remastered through PSN will net you the following bonuses at launch:
- Increased Crafting Speed
- Increased Healing Speed
- 9mm Reload Speed Upgrade
- Rifle Clip Capacity Upgrade
- Two skins for Joel and Ellie unlocked after beating the single-player campaign
- Bonus XP for multiplayer
- Multiplayer melee attack booster
- Extra in-game cash to start
- Special customizable character items for multiplayer
According to the PSN ad, you’ll also have early access to the multiplayer portion of the game, although no details were given as to when the early access starts, nor is a release date solidified at this time.
The Last of Us: Remastered will be exclusive to the Playstation 4 and is rumored to release this summer 2014. It will contain higher resolution textures, improved lighting effects, developer commentary during cinematics and every delicious bit of DLC. It will also launch at the full retail price of $59.99, even for the digital release.
One day someone will learn that in order for consumers to buy in to the “digital distribution will save you money” speech, it first has to actually save us money.

I’m torn. For amazing games like these, I’m a whore for a physical copy. But those are pretty awesome bonuses. I lost more than a couple lives to trying to frantically make a first aid kit after finding the last bit of alcohol I needed, or trying to reload my gun.
I still need a physical copy.
I might as well. I want those bonuses thouuuuggghhh
No bonus to me is worth having an empty spot on my shelf for a game I paid full retail for. As a half-assed collector, I just can’t do it.
I knooooow. The shitty collector in me is the same way. But the person who beat the game is sitting here thinking how awesome those bonuses are.
Developers: “No no no no. The pre-order “bonuses” TOTALLY justify the price.”
Exactly, amirite?
New game is aptly titled “Some More of Us”.
I thought it was “The Rest of Them”?
Is this The Last of U$?
