A “New Era” of Call of Duty to be Revealed on May 4th

Another year, another Call of Duty, so this announcement should come as no surprise. According to this image found hidden in the source code of the official website, the next entry in the insanely popular Call of Duty series will be revealed to the world on May 4th, 2014.

If the background image of the Golden Gate Bridge is anything to go by, it may be safe to assume that the next Call of Duty — rumored to be named Blacksmith — will take place in San Francisco. According to TotalXBOX, other source codes point to various news articles about private military companies and their scandals, like Blackwater, so that’s a good indicator as to the direction of the story.

Call of Duty: Blacksmith is being developed by Modern Warfare 3 veterans Sledgehammer Games. So far only one screenshot has surfaced, courtesy of Game Informer.

Are you excited for the new reveal on May 4th? Is there anything you hope Sledgehammer Games does differently from not only Modern Warfare 3, but Call of Duty: Ghosts?

  1. If you check out the CoD trailer for the new one coming out this year with Kevin Spacey in it, it kinda looks like they might be going more towards a futuristic take on it and taking some ideas from games like Titanfall with booster packs etc. Either way I’m looking forward to another CoD game to run around in.

    1. Yeah, after I posted this article, that trailer “leaked” lol. I feel like we all got trolled by Sledgehammer Games, letting info slip out so they could surprised us with “Modern-er Warfare”.

      1. In that trailer you see a guy basically pull a wall out of his ass and stand behind it for cover, wonder what else he has tucked up there?
