Ed Boone, Mortal Kombat‘s co-creator, has been sending out cryptic tweets since May 4th, hinting at some sort of mystery announcement. Yesterday’s Twitter message displayed a picture of a car; more specifically pointing to the model “MKX”. Could a new Mortal Kombat be on the horizon?
Hmmm… I wonder what the X stands for ? pic.twitter.com/qDq5LvK4vs

The obvious answer would be yes, as this would be the 10th installment of the fighting franchise. Ed Boone has also been counting down to June 2nd on Twitter, which is right before E3 2014, so we could be looking at a new Mortal Kombat announcement ahead of the big event.
The 9th installment of Mortal Kombat launched back in 2011, although NetherRealm Studios did work on the stellar DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us. Still, there could have been enough time in between to work on a new Mortal Kombat.
If that’s the case, what would you like to see in Mortal Kombat X? Is there anything NetherRealm could implement from Injustice: Gods Among Us, or even improve from 2011’s Mortal Kombat release?

I would like a Shaolin Monks 2.
The original really wasn’t that bad of a game and I could do maybe an arcade download of a sequel, just not a full release. Maybe as a mini-game, like the beat-em-up in Tekken 3?
