Yesterday we posted about Ubisoft‘s decision to port Child of Light to the PS Vita, but the game’s Creative Director, Patrick Plourde, took to Twitter an hour ago to clarify a few things. One of those things being that the retail version we were all excited for will not be releasing in North America.
@patrick_plourde Any reason we won’t be seeing a physical copy here in NA? Any chance we’ll see a retail release on other consoles?

According to Patrick Plourde’s Twitter post, Child of Light‘s retail release will be for the PS Vita, will not be a download code inside of a game case, will run 24.99 Euros and will not be released in North America. Bummer. As you can see, I replied to his Tweet to ask why we wouldn’t be seeing a physical release and if there is a chance we’ll see a retail release for other consoles as well, but I have not received a reply. It’s only been 20 minutes, so I’ll be patient and see if we can get you all some answers. He’s been very responsive on Twitter, so I’m confident we’ll have something to report soon.
My only suggestion is that if you’d like to see a retail release for Child of Light here in North America — be it for the PS Vita or any other console — take to the internet and let Ubisoft Montreal know. You can find them on Twitter right here, which might be a good place to start.
If I receive a reply to my tweet, I’ll continue to update this post with details, so stay tuned!
