Fans have been begging for a third installment to Shenmue, and with good reason as the sequel left us with a pesky cliffhanger back on the Xbox. According to a post over at NeoGAF, Sega has just filed a new trademark that is bound to get a lot of folks excited!
Obviously no real details are available at this time, but Yu Suzuki was supposedly in talks with Sony last year about possibly bringing the Shenmue series back. Could we see an announcement at E3?

Fans have been waiting since the Dreamcast days. I’d be surprised if they revived the series after all this time. Perhaps they just need to renew the trademark for royalties purposes (especially as the game is still available to buy.)
That’s always a possibility, but Yu Suzuki has been in talks for a while now about bringing the series back to finish it off. I’m seriously hoping we get Shenmue 3, regardless of which console it ends up on.
