Introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Ike was often referred to by the Smash community as the “noob” character. Regardless of your stance on the matter, Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS just reached 30 characters on the roster with the recent confirmation of the Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance hero.
Ike’s infamous recovery death plummet may be making a return as well, as Sakurai confirmed that Ike will still be practicing Aether in the new Super Smash Bros. later this year.

It’s probably the worst idea they’ve had in a while. Ike was broken and probably the worst character in Smash Bros. I would’ve preferred either Chrom or the return of Roy.
Ike was my favorite character in Brawl. I loved Roy in melee, but Ike was a solid beefcake. As far as character tiers he was very low because of his speed, but I was crushing some of my tournament friends when they were using characters like Marth and Fox.
Yeah, Ike’s air recovery was pretty terrible and i’ve accidentally suicide dropped more times than I can count.
