Reader Discussion: It’s the Weekend! Whatcha Playing?

tackyplaying

So the weekend officially started yesterday I suppose, but we still have 2 solid days of gaming until it’s back to work on Monday for you 9-to-5’ers. What will you be playing to fill the void?

For me it’s going to be Child of Light and a bit of Goat Simulator, but how about you? If you’re looking for something new to play, how about checking out the new Wolfenstein? If you were a fan of the Xbox 360‘s Bastion, SuperGiant Games just released Transistor on PS4 and PC as well.

Game on!

  1. Still playing Conception 2, where I am presently stuck on the fifth dungeon’s boss. I’m also sneaking in some games of Hearthstone when I have time.

    1. I had some fun with Hearthstone, but card battle games rarely hold my interest long enough. At least it’s F2P!

Fight the good fight and keep on making those warrior babies! The world depends on the ridiculous amount of virtual sex you’re having.

    1. Nice, I’m only 3 hours in so far, but it was at the top of my backlog. The rhyming gets a little tedious and feels forced sometimes, but I love the art style and turn-based combat. The world is excellent, as are the characters. It’s like some weird Where the Wild Things Are RPG.

      1. It’s a nice piece–I quite enjoy the rhyming, but can totally see where that wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Art direction’s damn amazing.

      2. Art direction is Van Dam delicious, that’s for sure. I don’t mind the rhyming when it works, but sometimes it’s not my cup of tea.

    1. Niad is out of town for a few weeks, but I might hop on WoW this weekend to see what’s up. Did you ever get FFXIV working? I’ve been playing that more than WoW lately.

  2. The Wolf Among Us, so I can stop avoiding spoilers =P And maybe some Always Sometimes Monsters, since I seem to enjoy that in hour-long bursts.

    1. I really, really need to start The Wolf Among Us. I’m just reminded how much I loathed waiting on new episodes of The Walking Dead game, so I’m trying to wait until it’s finished to scoop it all up at once.

Always Sometimes Monsters looks beautiful too.

      1. We grabbed the walking dead when all the episodes were out, so the waiting thing is new. I managed to finish Ch3, so I only have a one day wait for Ch4 (Ch5 will be the actual test of patience =P )
Always Sometimes Monsters has been good so far (I won’t spoil things just in case). I’m pleased that there’s more RPGMaker games out there that feel different from each other (To the Moon was another that stood out).
Ah, I didn’t know about That Dragon, Cancer, thanks for the heads-up.
If a year is considered within the horizon, then yes =) To prevent myself from blabbing about the game we’re working on, I’ll have to direct you to teapoweredgames.co.uk or @TeaPoweredTeam (both of which are a bit empty at the moment, but they’ll get filled up soon). As our about page (and my list of games) implies, we’re doing something heavy on narrative, so if that’s your kind of game, then I hope you’re looking forward to it! (/Shameless plug)

      2. I like narrative based games, so yeah, I’m definitely interested. I’m working through A Story About My Uncle right now, which has a good narrative, but it’s also a heavy dose of crazy platforming. It’s like Gone Home meets Bionic Commando or something.

      3. Any time! If you have anything in some sort of alpha state you’d like us to check out and help spread the word, drop us a comment or an email. =)
