Mortal Kombat X is official! Earlier today we received this fantastic trailer for the tenth installment of one of the most iconic franchises in video game history, Mortal Kombat. The trailer is action packed, featuring a brutal altercation between rivals Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
However, you may want to mute the trailer, as it features some pretty terrible poppy hip-hop music. Just blast Slayer in the background or something.
IGN has confirmed that Mortal Kombat X will launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC, and will feature multiple versions of the same characters that will alter their fighting style and strategies.
One thing that really stood out in the 2011 release was the in-depth story mode, which will be making a triumphant return in Mortal Kombat X. According to IGN “Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game’s most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together.”
So what’s the what? Who’s excited? I know we are!

Ha Ha.
The music choice was quite at odds with the Mortal Kombat style, but even the trailer itself wasn’t all that impressive in my eyes. We all knew a new MK was in the works, and its still going to be awesome, but this tease was just meh.
I thought it was pretty rad, actually. I’m glad they used the two most iconic characters to kind of show up the visual upgrade and that they’re not going to pull any punches again. Scorpion’s costume is awesome!
Poor Sub-zero gets no love 😦
Sure he did. And by love I mean decapitation and lots of spearing to the face parts.
Is that in game footage. if so it look so amazing.
Since it’s releasing for last gen and current gen, I’ll say no. We’ll probably see some gameplay at E3 though.
