Remember your jaw dropping when you saw the stunning first look at the new, truly open-world Legend of Zelda title for Wii U? Well, a Nintendo representative has since informed Kotaku that this footage was all from the in-game engine. No CGI cinematics here, folks.

The intense focus on action and genuine freedom is a welcomed approach to the Legend of Zelda franchise. We can’t wait to get our hands on this beautiful, vivid world and while we don’t have an official release date, we do know Legend of Zelda Wii U is scheduled to launch in 2015.

How ridiculously excited are you for this release?

  1. I haven’t seen many Zelda’s that entice me in quite a while, but this trailer does! It sort of reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus in terms of it being such an open world! Very nice. Time to consider the Wii U!

    1. The open world looks beautiful! When they announced that this was in-game footage, I nearly exploded with joy. Skyward Sword was a huge disappointment for me and I’m hoping Nintendo redeems themselves with the new Zelda.
