Crytek suffered another blow after Game Director Hasit Zala left the company just earlier this month, as Tiago Sousa, Lead Research and Development Graphics Engineer, has also resigned from Crytek. Two days ago, Sousa followed this with an announcement that he will be working on id Software‘s Doom and idTech 6 game engine.
Happy to announce i’ll be helping the amazingly talented id Software team with Doom and idTech 6. Very excited 🙂

Sousa had worked with Crytek for more than a decade as graphics programmer and engineer on CryEngine, and titles such as Far Cry, Crysis, Ryse: Son of Rome, and other projects.
While we wish him the best of luck in his endeavors, one can’t help but wonder what this means for Crytek. Will we be seeing more names jumping ship, or will Crytek be able to turn it around?
