Crytek’s Lead R&D Graphics Engineer Leaves Company for Doom

Crytek suffered another blow after Game Director Hasit Zala left the company just earlier this month, as Tiago Sousa, Lead Research and Development Graphics Engineer, has also resigned from Crytek. Two days ago, Sousa followed this with an announcement that he will be working on id Software‘s Doom and idTech 6 game engine.

Sousa had worked with Crytek for more than a decade as graphics programmer and engineer on CryEngine, and titles such as Far CryCrysisRyse: Son of Rome, and other projects.

While we wish him the best of luck in his endeavors, one can’t help but wonder what this means for Crytek. Will we be seeing more names jumping ship, or will Crytek be able to turn it around?
