Announced today for the OUYA in an official press release, Team Tripleslash‘s Magnetic By Nature will be making its way exclusively to the console on August 20th. It appears that someone over at OUYA not only knows of my love for platformers, but also that that’s my birthday. Coincidence? I think not.
According to the press release, Magnetic By Nature is a puzzle platformer influenced by art-deco architecture and governed by the universal laws of magnetic attraction. Taking on the role of the last robot alive in a fallen machine-age civilization, your goal is to find and reactivate your decommissioned robot companions.
Using your magnetic powers, you’ll navigate over 100 unique levels by way of attraction and repulsion. By the looks of the trailer, we can expect beautifully vivid colors and some truly challenging level designs. I was instantly reminded of the platforming in VVVVVV, and after seeing this image on the game’s official Facebook page, I think we’re in for a punishingly delicious treat next week.
Magnetic By Nature will release exclusively on the OUYA on August 20th for $9.99, and will make its way to PC, Mac, and Linux at some point in the future. If we manage to get our hands on a copy, expect a full review around launch day.
