Remember how Square Enix teased about a game they were collaborating on with Remember Me developer, Dontnod? Well the curtain has been pulled back to reveal the game Life is Strange, and it’s hailed as a ‘twist on traditional story-driven games’.

Taking place in the fictional town Arcadia Bay, Oregon, the story revolves around Max Caulfield and Chloe, two young women seeking the truth behind the disappearance of a third friend, Rachel Amber. The gameplay will be affected by choices the player makes, as well as the use of Max’s ability to rewind time. The game has been described as an episodic, digitally delivered, narrative-driven adventure game with a hand-drawn art style. You can check out a first look at gameplay below.

“Choice and consequence play a key role in how the narrative unfolds.” – Dontnod

While a release date has not been announced, it is set to be released on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

  1. So I am beyond excited for this game. I own Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain (which I haven’t played yet) and I can already see the similarities with this game, I am beyond excited. I absolutely loved Beyond Two Souls, after I beat it I wanted to replay it for a different ending. Games like these are the reason I’m broke, well not broke but you get the idea. 🙂

    1. The art style is destroying me (in a good way). It’s just so gorgeous and smooth looking.

A lot of people I know were hit or miss on Beyond Two Souls so hopefully Life is Strange nets in some of the naysayers.

      1. I bought Beyond Two Souls a couple of months ago and this may sound weird but I had a emotional connection the characters. I really enjoyed the game a lot. I started playing Heavy Rain a few days ago and I am feeling a connection with that game as well. I will buy Life is Strange and will love it unconditionally.

      2. I have yet to get through Remember Me, I picked it up when it was free on PSN. It’s in my backlog but I’m pretty confident I’ll enjoy it. I love a good story as much as I love squishing things in a Titan
