Saints Row IV Gets New Standalone DLC, Being Remastered for Xbox One & PS4

Yes, yes, another game from the last console generation is getting remastered. Pretty soon, any last-gen game worth its salt will be found on our shiny new consoles, just like the HD Collection phase we saw before.

According to their official Facebook page, Volition‘s open-world blast-a-thon Saints Row IV will not only be making its way to the Xbox One and PS4 on January 27th as Saints Row IV: Re-elected, but will also receive standalone DLC on the same day, entitled Gat Out of Hell.

Gat Out of Hell will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC as a standalone product, although a price hasn’t been confirmed yet. The DLC definitely looks absurd enough to be worthy of the Saints Row name, but the game itself is over a year old now.

Time will tell if their fanbase is still eager for new content or not, but it’s probably safe to assume that we’d all rather see a new Saints Row instead of yet another remastered release of a last-gen title.

  1. I actually want to play Saints Row IV on my PS4. I never got it for PC. Some games don’t need to be remastered but I always wanted to try this one.

    1. If the remasters are quality, they’re a great way for people to experience them for the first time. Saints Row IV also had a ridiculous amount of DLC content, which, if included, would be worth every penny. I just don’t hope they start going the way HD Collections did last-gen, when developers and publishers just got really lazy and upscaled graphics a little just to make a quick buck.
