Watch the video above from GamesHQMedia and judge for yourself if Halo 3 looks better in the upcoming Master Chief Collection. 343 Industries says that the game will be running at 1080p and 60fps but does it really look any better? Granted it’s tough to tell in a two minute video from a PAX panel.
Long time Halo fans may remember that back when Halo 3 first released there was somewhat of a controversy about the game not running at 720p. At the time, Bungie was still in charge of the game and favored the lower resolution in order to provide a consistent frame rate. So here we are again discussing resolution and frame rate to determine which, if either, is more important.
The first two Halo games had a bigger jump to make when coming to the Xbox One anyway. Having been on the original Xbox and not the Xbox 360, the resources were much more limited. Halo 3 already looked much more polished than its predecessors just because it was developed on the Xbox 360.
At any rate, pun intended, I just want to play the game again. Halo 3 was my first Halo experience and it hooked me into the entire Halo universe. Who else is just excited at the prospect of playing Halo again, be it the remastered games or upcoming beta?
