Following on the coat tails of Destiny’s success and other competition, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is already flexing its muscles with a reported shipment of 1 million copies to retail stores in Japan.
Although lacking the full content of the Super Smash Bros. Wii U game, Super Smash Bros for 3DS has already garnered a 37/40 score from Famitsu with the 3 of the reviewers giving it a flat out “9” while one decided it was worthy of a “10”. This comes in close to Famitsu’s perfect 40/40 score for 2008’s smash (no pun intended) hit Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is also reportedly shipping out on November 21st of this year, though speculation suggests that Nintendo may push it into the holiday season in December or even further into 2015.
On a sidenote, although I do not own a Wii U, I grew up spending much time playing the N64 version of Super Smash Bros. It will always hold a special and notably nostalgic place in my heart right alongside relics such as pogs, crystal Pepsi and Ronin Warriors.
