driveclub_lower_marqAccording to the offical Facebook page, DRIVECLUB Plus Edition has been delayed due to servers being overwhelmed.

“In order to help all DRIVECLUB players who have the game already, we’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition and the My DRIVECLUB app to ease the load and traffic to the servers. This should give players a better chance of connecting to the game servers and, once the servers are operating well, we’ll be sure to let you know when the PS Plus Edition and My DRIVECLUB app will be available to download.”

DRIVECLUB has suffered from several delays, most notably being pulled from the PS4 launch window at the eleventh hour but this should be a short term delay just to let the initial surge of connections quell.

I’m not so sure about a game that was billed to be as “social” as this game was when its first problem is having too many people trying to play it.

  1. I know I mentioned this gripe on Twitter, but I’m not too fond of having to download the entire game just to play the Plus Edition. Granted it’s free, so I should just shut up about it, but that’s a massive download for something I never intend on upgrading.
