Just recently, Nintendo hinted that a demo would be dropping in the near future for the remakes of the popular Pokemon Sapphire and Pokemon Ruby games. These demos would allow characters to transfer certain aspects of their progress over to the full game upon retail release.
Now, the demo has been announced to have a release date of October 21st. But don’t get your hopes up quite yet: The demo won’t be released through the eShop freely. Instead, you’ll have to input a special code. The safest method to ensure you receive the demo is to join the free Pokemon Trainer’s Club and opt in to receive the newsletter. You can also sign up at the Pokemon website. Nintendo has mentioned that other methods to obtain the code will be available, though they have not released the details on how yet.
As well as this, new Mega-evolutions have been announced: Mega Pidgeot, Mega Beedrill, Mega Latias, and Mega Latios. In the case of Latias and Latios, only one can be found in each game: Omega Ruby will give you access to Latias, while Alpha Sapphire will be granting you Latios. An Eon Ticket is required to fly out to a special region to catch them, though the full details have not been announced yet.
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby will be released on November 21st for North America, and November 28th in Europe for the 3DS. While the games will not support the new Amiibos, Junichi Masuda, producer of the upcoming games, appears to be interested in them.
So which version are you picking up? I’m leaning towards Alpha Sapphire myself.
