One of the most exciting ways Nintendo added immense replay value to Super Smash Bros. 3DS is with several pages of Challenges that reward players with unique items, outfits, and even stages. The challenges on the first two panels are relatively straight-forward and in many cases quite simple, but panel 3 really cranks up the intensity with a few rather difficult feats to complete including one which asks players to achieve ridiculous distance in Home-Run Contest.
Have you been wondering how to smash the sandbag over 3280 feet in Home-Run Contest? Well I’m going to tell you how to blast past 4000 feet using everyone’s favorite beefcake, Ganondorf, without even touching the bat.
As soon as the timer starts in Home-Run Contest begin performing 2 to 3 forward smashes with Ganondorf. These should put on some serious damage and will eventually send the sandbag flying, but you want to keep it relatively low to the ground so you can continue to rack up percentage points. After the initial forward smashes, simply begin spamming his standard forward “A” attack. This is basically a straight-on kick. This is one of his fastest moves and will keep the sandbag from flying too far. Continue hitting the sandbag until you have about %140 damage or until the timer reaches about 2 seconds. Then immediately face away from the sandbag (facing towards the left side of the screen) and use Ganondorf’s neutral “B” special. As soon as you initiate the attack flick and hold the joystick to the right to flip him around mid-special. This will unleash an even more powerful version of the attack and send the sandbag launching further than you’ve probably ever seen. I hit nearly 5000 feet after a few tries.
Completing this challenge will reward you with a Lv. 3 Ore Club to use in Smash Run. This powerful weapon will come in handy for players looking to easily smash some of the weaker enemies in this mode. It also doesn’t hurt to have it for those looking to complete the “Collect All Smash Run Powers” or “Place First in 20 or More Smash Run Final Battles” challenges.
I’m in the process of trying to complete every challenge in Super Smash Bros. 3DS. Like I mentioned before, some of them are rather difficult and others are just incredibly time consuming. I’ll be posting more guides as I unlock these challenges with tips and tricks to help you get the job done easier. Hopefully you found this helpful and if you’re having trouble unlocking every character, be sure to check out our Character Unlock Guide.

Nice, thanks! I’ve got a handful of third panel things left as well, this sounds like a pretty straight-forward solution, so I’ll have to try it out later! (I don’t think I even considered not using the bat =P )
Been there…done that!
there just isn’t enough time to pull this off. Been trying this for hours, even with gannondorf it’s almost impossible to get up past 145%. This seems more like one of those once in a blue moon lucky hit challenges than something that can be done at will
It definitely takes a bit of practice, but it can be done. It took me 4 to 5 tries before I actually got it to work. Just stick with it and try to dish out as much damage as you can. I landed the smash as close to 0 seconds as I possibly could. Good luck!
