Aside from Final Fantasy, the Persona series is probably the most well known batch of JRPGs here in the west. That’s with good reason, as the third and fourth entries were pretty incredible; not to mention the other amazing games in the Shin Megami Tensei universe.
Earlier today we got our first glimpse at Persona 5, and sweet mother of role-playing (wow, that sounds dirty) it looks incredible so far. That style! That user-interface! THAT CAT!
With Xenoblade Chronicles X coming to Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles porting to the New Nintendo 3DS, potentially a new Fire Emblem, a new Tales game, and now Persona 5 on PS3 and PS4, 2015 is shaping up to be one hell of a year for JRPG fans. Of course, Persona 5 could slide in to 2016, but let’s just hope that doesn’t happen.

That is the best thing I’ve seen. I wantssss it.
So much yes. It looks great so far.
Im so sold on the Phantom Thieves angle. So sold and SO HYPE!
Ever since I played Catherine I have been waiting for Persona 5, waiting for them to show off those sexy new graphics, and boy have they delivered!
Move over Minato, move over Narukami, there’s a new protaganist in town…and he’s packing a cat.
(THE HYPE IS REEEEEEEAL)
Most definitely, I remember when Catherine was shown off they had mentioned wanting to use the same graphical style for the next Persona game. This was years ago. I’m so glad they delivered. I need this so bad!
I know! I loved the smoothness of Catherine (game, not the person, I was team ‘K’ Katherine x3 ) and how it looked a movie when it wasn’t a nightmare level.
And maybe now we can say goodbye to all those Persona 4 spin-offs. I mean, I love Persona 4, it’s just I would have rather had a new game instead of Persona 4 Arena…
