Many fans were incredibly upset when the dream collaboration project between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, Silent Hills, was cancelled earlier this year, but Konami promised consumers they were “still committed” to delivering new “products” in the Silent Hill franchise. Now, months after many of our hopes were destroyed, the company has revealed a brand new Silent Hill game.

Prepare your minds for Silent Hills Pachinko! Everything you love about Silent Hill reduced to a shallow experience designed to rob people of their hard-earned money. Oh wait… This isn’t something you’re insanely excited about? Well, that’s probably why Konami has made almost no mention of the upcoming casino game. It’s truly depressing to see something you love so dearly slowly being devoured by corporate greed.

As of now, there is no official release date for Silent Hills Pachinko v3.0 (apparently there are other versions), but honestly, do any of us really care? This is basically a huge slap in the face to anyone who was excited about Silent Hills and the potential for a new game in the near future.

  1. Konami are demonstrating how to become officially accredited in destroying it’s own illustrious legacy. Bravo guys. You’ve official surpassed even EA’s notorious reputation.

    1. It’s really sad to see them self-destructing so quickly. They really need to do their fans a favor and sell the rights to all their major franchises.

    1. Seriously… that game had sooo much potential. It was shaping up to be the Silent Hill games fan have wanted for years. It looked like it could have been the scariest game of all time, honestly.

      1. Yeah, tell me about it! I couldn’t sleep right for WEEKS because of that game, and I had a lot of confidence that it would be one of the greatest Silent Hills we had seen to date. I hold out a little bit of hope that maybe one day they’ll come to their senses and start working on it again, but I know it’s a long shot. 😦

    1. I don’t know why they expected anyone to be excited about this release, especially with the cancellation of Silent Hills. If both games were coming out it probably wouldn’t be a huge deal, but just knowing this is the only Silent Hill we’ll get for at least a couple years is pretty insulting.

      1. We’ve suffered through so many mediocre releases and just when things were looking up, Konami decided to start self-destructing.

      2. Hahaha oh no…. Well if it’s any consolation, Downpour isn’t the worst Silent Hill… Lol It’s definitely the second worst though. Silent Hill 1, 2, and 3 are amazing, though. And so was Shattered Memories for Wii.
