What’s up TEAM XBRO? AMGfail here with today’s edition of The Daily Clip, featuring a little space flight dogfight action in the newly released indie game Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut for the Xbox One.
Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut was one of those games that I was really looking forward to, but after playing it for a while I’m just not a big fan. I don’t know if it’s the repetitive missions or the fact that I completely loathe 360 space flight controls, but I found myself quitting after finishing up half the campaign. I’ll give it another shot tomorrow and see if maybe I’m just being an overdramatic diva-saurus rex.
Every mission so far boils down to destroying ships or.. well, yeah, that’s about it. It’s about what I’d expect from an arcade space shooter, but I guess I was hoping for a little more variety since Strike Suit Zero is more a space flight sim. I’m surprised by how much I don’t like it as a fan of shooters, but my main complaint is definitely the control scheme.
If you’re used to old school 90’s PC shooters, you may be in heaven with this one, but I just can’t get down with it. Anyone else out there in XBRO land give Strike Suit Zero a try yet? What are your thoughts?

Wow, looks a lot like the space flight mission from Halo: Reach.
It reminds me a lot of Colony Wars and Zone of Enders, but doesn’t have the polished controls of either one.
I really want to get into this game, I really do, but like you I just really can’t get that into it.
The controls make me want to punt kittens, and I love kittens. But if I were a big space sim guy in the 90’s, I’d be fine with it. I’m just not.
