Anyone who’s played Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls, knows this series takes pride in making the player suffer. Today IGN revealed the very first video of gameplay footage for the upcoming Dark Souls 2. Prepare to die… again and again.
Check out this fantastic introduction into the world of Dark Souls 2:
[youtube http://youtu.be/EA1s9v2Ab8w]You can tell immediately that there are some serious graphical updates. Textures and environments are looking rather refined. The combat seems pretty much the same as the previous games, but there is the added stress of destructible environments. So now when you’re being chased by a giant, mutant dragon and you decide to leave the room and hide, there is a distinct possibility that the monster will bust right through the walls.
What are your thoughts on the new gameplay video?
Boo video got blocked…. I loved the pain and suffering playing through demon souls. Makes me wanna play it some more tonight 🙂
Lame! Well it was great while it lasted. We still have a link to the IGN article, so you can watch it from there. I might start playing Dark Souls again, but I need to mentally prepare.

That’s exactly why it’s 1:25 am and I am about ready to throw my ps3 controller at the tv! One can never mentally prepare enough for a game such as this.
Hahaha I know! I’ve had to resist the urge so many times. I stopped playing when I had to fight 3 minotaurs, 4 kapras demons, and a giant leech at the same time. That’s just cruel.

This is an awesome game, but my (lack of) patience for these types of games often result in heavy damage on furniture and/or the TV + console. 😀
It’s one of those games that tries to break you down at every turn, but I couldn’t stop playing.

I’m moist. Dark Souls has become one of my favorite games of all time. I even double dipped for the PC version when it came out (even on a mid range rig, it turns out to be the superior version). I so can’t wait to spend countless hours of getting my ass handed to me. DS2 is definitely on my list of most anticipated games. A day one purchase for me, even a pre-order if I’m feeling frisky.
