April Fools always beings about a surprise in the game world. You either get hilarious ideas that you wish were true – such as a Bard class for World of Warcraft and Transformers in Titanfall – or ideas that were so well-received that they end up being the real deal, such as Goat Simulator.
Ubisoft likes to take the game a step further and really leave gamers wondering if something is a hoax or not. After revealing that last year’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was in fact NOT a hoax, gamers have been left wondering if Far Cry 4 will be getting a similar treatment after this year’s crop of April Fools’ jokes.
Well… It’s not out of the question. In an interview with Red Bull, a tantalizing hint was dropped. While it may not be the next Blood Dragon, something might be in the works.
“We’re talking about it… you never know. The goal would be to be surprising, so it wouldn’t be another Blood Dragon, but hopefully something equally as odd and left field.” – Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director of Far Cry 4
Whatever may be in the works, it will be some time before we see it. Far Cry 4 launches next month on November 18th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.
