Perhaps you’re one of those people holding off on the Wii U, but yesterday’s Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct has you ready to purchase a ticket for the hype train. If that’s the case, you have about 14 hours to take advantage of this stellar deal, offering the Wii U Deluxe console with New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U for just $250.00. Did I mention the shipping was free?
The Wii U catches a lot of slack for being underpowered when compared to the Xbox One or Playstation 4, but it’s been around long enough to offer a solid library of exclusive retail and indie titles.
If you’ve been contemplating the purchase of a Wii U lately, you’ll find a lot to love with games like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101. That doesn’t even scratch the surface, especially once you add in indie exclusives like Mighty Switch Force, Mutant Mudds Deluxe and Nano Assault NEO.
I’m not trying to sell anyone on the Wii U here, because I shouldn’t have to. It’s the only current-gen console offering backwards compatibility, so you can play your entire Wii library (virtual console games included) on the Wii U and have them upscaled in HD. The Wii U’s Gamepad offers off-screen play, which is a godsend if you want to play something while your family watches TV, or you want to watch Netflix in bed.
This is an awesome deal and a great time to pick up the Wii U console. The included games are both a lot of fun and just icing on the cake. Oh, and if you need some added incentive, over 400 high resolution Super Smash Bros for Wii U images were uploaded to Flickr. (Thanks to XBRO Derrick Dewitt for the link)
